INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR RELATIONSHIPS IN NEWMARKET & ACROSS ON

The best way to show up for those you love is to heal yourself first.

Therapy that empowers women to nurture, heal, and thrive in their relationships.

You wish somebody would put you first for once….including yourself.

Whether you're in a relationship, dating, navigating life after a breakup, or dealing with friendship issues, struggles with your parents, or challenges in parenting, you can't shake the feeling that love should be more than what you've known so far. You've tried adjusting your expectations, maybe even stepping outside of your usual “type,” but it always ends up the same: you’re giving your all, while the other person barely meets you halfway.

Maybe you’d rather be alone than risk feeling let down again. Independence has become your comfort zone—you’ve convinced yourself you can’t rely on anyone. It feels safer to just keep your distance than to risk putting your trust in someone who might let you down.

And maybe, deep down, you’re afraid of repeating the patterns you grew up with—of resorting to the same behaviors you saw in your parents’ relationships, and even worrying about how this might affect your relationship with your own children someday.

You want to break free from this cycle. You’re ready to do what it takes to build relationships where you feel truly supported and connected—where you can trust, feel loved, and know you’re worthy of the same care and effort you give to others.

MAYBE THINGS LOOK LIKE…

+ Feeling responsible for others' emotions and on edge if they’re unhappy or upset

+ Feeling disconnected from people or drawn to the same emotionally unavailable types

+ Resentful, burdened by guilt, and wondering who you are beyond roles like “mom,” “wife,” or “daughter”

+ Waking up exhausted, feeling isolated and stretched too thin

+ Torn between wanting closeness and pushing people away

+ Stuck in patterns that keep you from the life and relationships you want

+ Weighed down by past experiences that make you anxious or disconnected from life

+ Afraid to share your true feelings, worried you might be a burden to others

THE PROCESS

Relationships can bring us some of our greatest happiness…but they can also be some of our biggest sources of stress.

We’ll start our work together by taking time to explore your current experience, the stories and beliefs you hold, the patterns you notice, and the ways you’ve been coping so far. Relationships aren’t easy—I get it, and I’m not going to judge you on the status, timeline, or context of the relationship struggles that brought you here. A main focus is truly honoring your feelings and thoughts—they matter, and they’ll tell us a lot if we listen.

As we get comfortable together, I may invite you to do some gentle somatic (body-based) work to help you connect how these feelings resonate in your body. We might try grounding exercises or other practical, science-based tools to support you, especially in managing the day-to-day stress that can come with relationships.

This can also be an opportunity to reconnect with and nurture a younger version of yourself, bringing more compassion and healing to those parts of you that need it. As you begin to feel relief and progress in the present, you can move toward long-term healing and direction.

Once you feel ready, we’ll start to explore how certain feelings or reactions might connect to your past experiences, including relationships that may have shaped you in ways you’re noticing today - both positively and negatively. Together, we’ll look at any reminders or cues that might be coming up, and I’ll always check in around your safety and comfort.

I believe you can build the fulfilling, authentic relationships you truly deserve. I'm here to support you as you navigate the path to deeper connection, trust, and understanding with the people who matter most to you.

“Safety is not the absence of threat, it is the presence of connection.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you work with couples?

Currently, I only work with individuals for relationship therapy.

What is inner child work?

Inner child work is all about healing the emotional wounds from your past, especially those carried from childhood. Through this process, I can help you reconnect with that younger part of yourself and offer the compassion it needs, so you can release old patterns and create healthier, more loving relationships today. I’m here to guide you in nurturing the parts of you that need it most.

What if I’m not currently in a relationship? Can you still help me?

Yes! Therapy is a great place to explore your relationship with yourself, identify any patterns from past relationships, and work on personal growth. Healing these areas helps you feel more prepared for healthier, fulfilling relationships when the time comes.

Is this only for romantic relationships?

While a lot of the work I do helps improve romantic relationships, my approach and expertise apply to all kinds of relationships—whether it’s with family, friends, coworkers, or even your relationship with yourself. Therapy can help you better understand your patterns, set healthy boundaries, communicate more effectively, and create deeper connections, no matter the type of relationship.

Change is possible.

We can work through this.
